Parks and Recreation's Adam Scott may take the lead in Hot Tub Time Machine 2

05.07.2013

In my book, Adam Scott went from douchey creepo to awkwardly adorable. All this stemming his role as Ben Wyatt on PARKS AND RECREATION. That Letters To Cleo shirt really won me over. Yeah, so it's a fictional character, like I care.

No, I didn't forget PARTY DOWN.

Scott who has been in a ton of parts, but never really made it to leading man status may sign on for HOT TUB TIME MACHINE 2 to do exactly that. Director Steve Pink and cast members Craig Robinson, Rob Corddry and Clark Duke are all set to make their return. However, John Cusack has decided not to go back in time again hence needing someone like Scott to take over.

We have no idea to what time they will be traveling this time, and am not sure how they will top what they did with the 80s. Is it too soon to go back to the 90s? Or will they go forward into the future? In all honesty since we do not know where the time machine came from nor who made it, the rules that apply to time travel to not apply to this film so they can go wherever they want.

Who wants another HOT TUB TIME MACHINE installment?

What?

You can't have a fun-filled 1980s time machine movie without 1980s star John Cusack. This is wrong.

Hurm...

The first movie was ok. I don't really need a sequel. But mainly, I really like Adam Scott, and don't want him to replace cusack in a decent comedy. AT LEAST be a different character, but I think he should start his own original comedies instead of someone else's scraps.

Thought the same as everyone else that Hot Tub Time Machine was definitely underrated. Would love a second one, but Cusack needs to re-think about returning.

They gotta go back to the 80's or maybe the 70's. Those are the only times that would really work. The 90's would be boring, and the future just wouldn't feel right! Heck get them to crash the set of Back to the future and get a cameo with Mike Fox and Chris Lloyd! Bring back the entire cast and give Chevy Chase a bigger role! Heck put Jim Carrey in there too!

How would the 90's be boring? The decade has it's own period music now, there's enough identifiable cliques from the 90's (grunge, preppy athletes, etc.) to have fun with. Sure there's no monumental event in the 90's the base the movie off of, but they didn't go that route for the 80's either. In fact, most people regarded the 80's as a boring decade too, but they managed to have a lot of fun with that period. Why wouldn't the same be possible for the 90's. And putting Jim Carrey in the

This Sucky and Cool All At The Same Time

I have no idea why Cusack wouldn't want to return to one of, if not the best film he's done in a while. I really hope he changes his mind after they get a script. I would love to have it set in the Cincinnati time period so we can find out what's in the box labeled "Cincinnati." He and Steve Pink (the director) go way back so, hopefully, he will come to his senses. That being said; I love Adam Scott! I think he is a great replacement for Cusack (since there has to be one, apparently). I hope he

All in all, I am happy as Hell that we are getting a sequel. Now, how do we get Dredd 2 off the ground???

Really curious what the Hollywood greenlight process is for sequels. I am a fan of this movie, but interesting that some "underperformers" are still sequelized

Ben Wyatt is simply put the best, most realistic nerd on television. Forget Dwight Schrute, forget the entire cast of Bing Bang Theory, Scott's got it down pat. Seemingly normal, until you ever so slightly badmouth Game of Thrones. And when the nerdiness surfaces, its a compulsion...he just can't help it. Example: [link]

Seeing as this is a time travel movie sequel, they should have it be like Back to the Future II...jumping across multiple time periods and parallel realities. So 80s,

And like Crispin Glover in BTTF II they should get some other actor to play Cusack's role and shoot him out of focus, from behind, heavy makeup.

The Hot Tub Time Machine was a hilarious movie and is vastly underrate. I'm disappointed that Cusack isn't returning because one of the best parts about the first one was the characters interactions with one another and their chemistry. So I think not having Cusack back will hurt the film by not having that great chemistry that the first one had.

I am a huge fan of Adam Scott and think the guy deserves more roles with the talent that he brings to each one of his films and characters. If

Keep it in the 80s

There aren't enough movies set in the 80s and that is why the first one did so well. Hot Tub Time Machine had to be one of the greatest comedies to come out in a long time that didn't rely on gross out humor. I kind of wish they casted another person who was big in the 80s like Rob Lowe or Jason Bateman because they could throw in a million more movie references for us to laugh at.
