Patrick Stewart reveals a potential spoiler for X-Men: Days of Future Past
X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST looks to throw the kitchen sink at the superhero genre by including almost every conceivable mutant at the screen and seeing what sticks. But, at the core, X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is really about Professor X and Magneto with a good amount of Wolverine. Seeing both young and older actors as Xavier and Magneto is one of the highlights of Bryan Singer's film and also a key thread connecting this movie from X-MEN: FIRST CLASS and then going into X-MEN: APOCALYPSE.
Patrick Stewart, the man who has played Charles Xavier for the sixth time in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, was asked about whether or not he will return for X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, the already announced sequel that is slated for 2016. See Stewart's response below which may contain a spoiler for X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST.
I don't see why not, he said. That is one of the blessings about fantasy and science fiction: You're never really dead. I would love to come back and do some more.
Remember, Singer already told us that X-MEN: APOCALYPSE will serve as a direct sequel to X-MEN: FIRST CLASS and not feature any of the original trilogy stars. That being said, Patrick Stewart has already died in the series (X-MEN: THE LAST STAND) so it wouldn't be that shocking for him to die again. And, if early leaks are any indication, we should probably be preparing ourselves to see a lot of death in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST.
X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST opens May 23rd and X-MEN: APOCALYPSE is slated for May 27, 2016.
