Patton scores Crank 2

12.03.2008

Movieweb has revealed that legendary musician Mike Patton will score the entire soundtrack to CRANK 2: HIGH VOLTAGE. Patton most recently contributed to the score to Ridley Scott's BODY OF LIES and is probably best known for being the lead singer of the influential rock band Faith No More. This will be his first job scoring an entire film.

Is this good news? I don't know, I'd be lying if I said this moved me. I'm only vaguely familiar with Patton and the last album I bought was by Q-Tip so I probably have no frame of reference whatsoever. Plus, you really shouldn't be worrying about the music in a CRANK movie, trust me. You're there for Statham breaking fools, and for Amy Smart's tits. That's it. They could use the ice-scream man song as a score and I know I wouldn't even notice.
Extra Tidbit: This thing needs a trailer.

I could care less about this movie but Patton is a king. I'll be buying this.

so ignorant

So ignorant James - you should rent a skywriter to spell it out across the sky - "I'm totally ignorant about music".

That's what's wrong with this site - they don't let somebody scoop stories who might actually care, and do the article justice - it's just the first monkey that finds it on someone else's site. You're yawning at the story just makes you sound like a fucking 'tard - its like a guy who "just doesn't get what all the hullabaloo around The Watchmen is about".

Koodos...

... to the other Patton fans out there for pointing out his dopeness before I had a chance. For those of you who don't know, Mike Patton is the greatest living vocalist in the world. (Director's Cut is just one ridiculously awesome album, in his amazing library of music) All I can say is it's about fucking time.

BRING THE NOISE MIKE!!!

Extra Tidbit: Patton helped voice the creatures in I Am Legend.

Fantomas - Director's Cut

You should check out the Fantomas album, Director's Cut. He takes old movie scores and "reimages" them... for lack of better term.

The Godfather one is awesome....

Seriously? No mention of Mr. Bungle?? Go buy "California", listen to that for a couple of weeks and tell me this news doesn't move you. I don't know how Patton's scoring is, but his vocal talents are ridiculous. Check out his work with Dan the Automator (Lovage) Peeping Tom, Fantomas, and even Bjork, I always forget that he ever sang for Faith No More.

I can't say I'm excited for Crank 2. Why couldn't he score something less... lame? ">

Not his first time scoring an entire film.

He just recently composed the soundtrack for a film called A Perfect Place. A short film, but anyhoo.
