Spider-Man: Homecoming

After five movies and two different actors playing the role, Peter Parker finally looks like an ordinary high school student in SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING. As Sony/Marvel seem keen on producing "multiple movies where he’s in high school," that's certainly a good thing. With the release of the next Spidey flick just a few short months away, Empire has revealed a new image from SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING which shows Peter Parker (Tom Holland) leaping into action, or perhaps just taking a shortcut on his way home. "We’ve seen the billionaire. We’ve seen the god. We’ve seen the soldier. Now we get to see the kid," said Tom Holland. After his scene-stealing turn in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, I can't wait to see what Holland can do now that he has room to breathe in his own standalone film. Along for the ride will be Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes/Vulture and Marisa Tomei as May Parker. Although there have been more than a few SPIDER-MAN films over the past fifteen years, the two studios are hoping that SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING will represent a fresh slate for the web-slinger, with producer Eric Hauserman Carroll insisting that "we’re not making the sixth Spider-Man movie, we’re making the first Peter Parker movie."

The official synopsis for SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING:

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING is set for a July 7, 2017 release.

McGuire was a whiner that didn't want to workout for a giant role. Decent movies for a sub par Peter Parker. Garfield was a way more likable Spider-Man in terrible Spidey movies. Holland is the perfect blend, in lets hope, will be a solid movie this year.

I'm just glad Holland comes off a lot more likable as Peter Parker than Garfield ever did in his own two films. But in my mind, no one will ever surpass Maguire and/or the original trilogy for me.

I'd have to question your taste in a properly represented Peter Parker and maybe movies in general since the original "trilogy" wasn't All that great, especially with the 3rd film being an absolute turd! I mean come on, if you're a Super Hero and you and your suit get taken over by an alien symbiate, of course your going to go all "Goth" and start pointing at all the women on the street like some jack ass used car salesmen player and land up dancing in a club like some idiot! Needless to say

Needless to say that two of Spider-Man's arch enemies were absolutely butchered and underdeveloped!

And I think it's safe to say that most fans hated the fact they changed his web slinging abilities from mechanical to organic! That was always one the extra interesting challenges that Spidey faces is "what does he do when he runs outta web fluid?"

Then the way in which Mcquire actually played Parker, like some consistently whining punk ass bitch! And what was up with those overly bulgy watery eyeballs of his?

The Defense rests its case. I think Marvel and Holland totally nailed a great Parker and Spider-Man this time and dug what he brought to Civil war and this if definitely one of the summer flicks I'm really looking forward too!

If you think Maguire is the pinnacle, I laugh in your general direction....

Goodness...

The first two Sam Raimi Spider-Mans were all about Peter Parker. So far this doesn't look different enough.

What is your problem? It's about Spider-man? That's an actual red tag complaint? Seriously?

Learn to read, idiot. Holland calls it "the first Peter Parker movie." That's a delusional statement given how Parker-focused they've all been.
