Pixar to bring you TV special Toy Story of Terror in 2013

Toy Story 3 all the toys together

The titular characters of TOY STORY 3 have already been seen in several shorts since their last cinematic adventure back in 2010, a trend that looks to continue with Pixar's announced Halloween special titled TOY STORY OF TERROR.

While it would be incredible if this was airing in just a few short weeks, were going to have to somehow muster the patience to wait until 2013.  Which isn't at all an appealing thought, but then again, it's better than no more Toy Story at all.  Or tapeworms.  Those are no fun either.

The plot for TOY STORY OF TERROR goes a little something like this: "what starts out as a fun road trip for the Toy Story gang takes an unexpected turn for the worse when the trip detours to a roadside motel. After one of the toys goes missing, the others find themselves caught up in a mysterious sequence of events that must be solved before they all suffer the same fate in this Toy Story of Terror."  Sounds like a bit of Scooby Doo, a bit of PSYCHO, and a whole lot of awesome.

Yes!

Ever since it was announced that Pixar would be doing stuff like this I was jacked up! I've supported Toy Story since I was a wee little lad, and anything they do with the Toy Story franchise, I completely back them up full heartedly. Everything that has come out since the first movie has been gold, the child in me agrees.

it'll probably be a half hour special on ABC like Monsters vs Aliens and Shrek were on NBC

I Like it

Sounds like it could be a take on "Identity" which i always felt was an underrated movie. That would work better for the individual characters than trying to do a Psycho spoof (not to say Psycho jokes cant find their place).

It'll probably run a half hour. I think they're trying to compete with what Dreamworks has been doing on NBC the last few years.(Shrek The Halls, Kung Fu Panda Holiday, Scared Shrekless).

It's people like you that clamour for sequels and end up destroying a perfect three act structure (such as the Toy Story trilogy).

I love this idea! It would probably be an instant Halloween classic. I would love a solid bookend for The Great Pumpkin and Garfield's Halloween.
