Please don't hold back on the subtlety, fan posters for Cabin in the Woods

04.14.2011

OOPS! You can't enter the cabin!

There's an uprise! Did everyone forget about CABIN IN THE WOODS? This is one of MGM's projects that seems to have gotten lost. THE HOBBIT and James Bond have movement, but poor CABIN is still in limbo. Don't worry though, the fans have Joss Whedon's back.

While the posters aren't particularly inventive, they don't have to be. It's the subtlety that works here. But will the cries of the fans be heard? While petitions are nothing new to the Whedonverse, I thought the posters and site were pretty amusing. Check out the website and add @EnterTheCabin to your twitter buddies.

I'll be honest, when I first saw the official posters, with their witty, cliche-acknowledging tag-lines, I really wanted to see this. But that was the last good news I remember hearing about this thing. Between the studio troubles and the 3-D conversion, I might still be curious, but only vaguely.

Question

Is the movie actually finished? I just remember it being talked about (a lot), but never heard of it actually being wrapped and done.

Please enlighten.

The messages on the fan posters are funny.

But the image itself looks just like the "Cabin Fever" poster!

It's a play on the original posters released about two years ago.
