All that STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS fan-fiction about Oscar Isaac‘s Resistance pilot Poe Dameron is about to get a fresh influx on material to work off heading into the new year, as Dameron will be getting his own Marvel Comics series starting in April.
STAR WARS: POE DAMERON will offer up a bit of backstory about who the character is, where he came from and what makes him so damn valuable to the Resistance. You should expect to get plenty of information about how Dameron got to where he was at the start of THE FORCE AWAKENS, trying to track down Max Von Sydow’s Lor San Tekka on Jakku for whatever information he had concerning the whereabouts of the missing Luke Skywalker.
Some of Poe’s pre-TFA origin can be gotten from the SHATTERED EMPIRE miniseries that let up to THE FORCE AWAKENS, but while those were small breadcrumbs about his parentage and where he grew up, the Marvel series will explore his adventures later in life dealing with a new as-yet-unintroduced enemy from the First Order.
As for his bromance with Finn that has a lot of fans excited… well, you’re going to have to leave it to Rian Johnson to further dig into for STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII.
