Possible Spider-Man love interests include Emma Stone and Mia Wasikowska

While we have our new Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) and franchise director (Marc Webb) for the SPIDER-MAN reboot that you all desperately wanted (?), the role of the high school love interest currently has a blank photo in the yearbook.

According to EW, Emma Stone (ZOMBIELAND, EASY A) and Mia Wasikowska (ALICE IN WONDERLAND) are on the list of possibilities to play Pete's eventual sweetie. But what's interesting is their claim that both Mary Jane Watson and Gwen Stacy are potential objects of desire this time. So is the new Spidey movie basically going to be a melodramatic love triangle with some sticky swing-juice?

Previous reported contenders include Mary Elizabeth Winstead (SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD), Imogen Poots (28 WEEKS LATER, upcoming FRIGHT NIGHT remake), Teresa Palmer (THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE, upcoming I AM NUMBER FOUR), Lilly Collins (THE BLIND SIDE, upcoming PRIEST), Emma Roberts (NANCY DREW, HOTEL FOR DOGS) and Ophelia Lovibond (NOWHERE BOY, upcoming LONDON BOULEVARD).

The real news that comic fans are probably anxious to hear is who will play the villain this time, with popular speculation that we'll see the wall-crawler duking it out with The Lizard.
