Prepare to be baffled by this red-band trailer for Nature Calls starring Patton Oswalt and Johnny Knoxville

Sep. 20, 2012by: Paul Shirey

This new red-band trailer for NATURE CALLS starring Patton Oswalt, Johnny Knoxville, Rob Riggle, Patrice O'Neal, and Marua Tierney pulls the curtains back on something that will either be insanely stupid or outrageously entertaining.  I can't decide which.  The trailer starts out looking like another paint-by-numbers comedic yarn, but then descends into yelling, screaming, swearing madness with a crucified Knoxville, a naked chick on a motorcycle, and Rob Riggle asking the question that fully encapsulates my feeling about the movie: "What the f*ck is going on here?"

Scout's out:

I like Oswalt and Riggle, but Knoxville is hot and cold.  He works better in something like this than Schwarzenegger's THE LAST STAND, but let's face it, he's at his peak when getting bit on the nipple by baby alligators and dressing like an old man and harrassing people.  I just don't know what to make of this.  What say you?

Here's the synopsis:

Oswalt stars as Scoutmaster Randy Stevens, whose dwindling, apathetic troop ditches a scout meeting in favor of a TV-themed slumber party hosted by Randy’s brother Kirk (Knoxville), his polar opposite and arch nemesis. When Randy rounds up the boys in the middle of the night, stealing them for an highly unauthorized/unorganized trip to the woods, all hell breaks loose as Kirk pursues with a pair of gun-toting employees (Riggle and O’Neal). Drinking, nudity, mishandled fireworks and tremendously inappropriate behavior around minors ensues, in the grand tradition of comedy classics like The Bad News Bears and Meatballs.

NATURE CALLS will hit VOD on October 4, 2012 and trek to theaters on November 9, 2012.

Extra Tidbit: If you took all the swearing out of this trailer, I think any and all desire to see it would be lost.

Meh...Couldnt find one funny moment in that trailer. Patrice O Neal was my dude though. if this movie was his last one, and it winds up being as crappy as it looks, I'll actually feel bad...

Wow what a piece of crap. A bunch of young kids in a R rated film. Notice they make sure all swearing takes place with no kids onscreen.
Also notice it opens On Demand in October and in theaters in November meaning the studio knows it's crap but also that there may be some empty screens in early November.
