BAYWATCH has secured its villain.

Priyanka Chopra, best known stateside as the star of ABC's QUANTICO but who has been a huge Bollywood star for a number of years, has signed on to play the evil oil tycoon that will threaten the waters and beaches that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Zac Efron look after while on duty in the big-screen adaptation of the once-popular TV series.

Chopra will be playing Victoria Leeds, and what her exact motivations are remain under wraps right now... But you know she's out to inflict a world of trouble on the environment that only the slo-mo running lifeguards of the film will be able to stop in her tracks.

BAYWATCH will be ready for May 19, 2017.

Hollywood has over the years flirted with Bollywood actors and actresses but it's never been more than that. I know, I know, Indian films are 'generally' bad and perhaps it's the fact they're a strange hybrid of movies and musicals that make it difficult for Hollywood people to see Bollywood stars in leading western based roles but I do think that there are some very fine actors and actresses that given a decent chance could do some great stuff (I've always thought Aamir Khan should have been

I've not see Priyanka Chopra in her American show and despite not being able to recall a 'great' or even 'good' Bollywood movie she's had a leading role in (though I'm sure one will come to me), I don't think that's her fault. She's got the talent to back up the looks and I most definitely agree with Wopolopolus' assessment of her eyes and voice - always dug those features...very much :o)

A for Baywatch villains, they were usually drunk people, abusive partners of one of the lifeguards, people after the latest hot chick the Hoff would be shagging or some natural disaster. I do once recall them mixing it up...with a hostage situation in the middle of a storm...but that was back in season 1 when it was actually a very entertaining show.

I do watch Quantico, its not great, but there is just something hypnotizing about both her eyes that voice that keeps me slogging through that otherwise bad show. I would love to see her get more roles and make it much bigger. She actually is very talented, and in a time when diversity is a hot button issue, more Indian/middle eastern actors would be a welcome addition to the pool.

I'd definitely like to see Priyanka get some decent roles here in the USA. She's a huge star in the rest of the world and of course she's gorgeous. Someone just give her a decent script so she can show what she's capable of. I tried watching Quantico but it was absolutely terrible.

I don't know this girl from a hole in the wall, but this Baywatch movie is amping up to be a pretty decent comedy. I'm picturing something in the vein of 21 Jump Street,
