Quantum of errors

Nov. 19, 2008by: Dave Davis

I've yet to see QUANTUM OF SOLACE, so I can't verify the amount of flubs in the flick, but someone out there is doing the counting. A lot of it.

It looks like 007 has become embroiled in his fair share of continuity issues and factual errors (not that facts ever got in Bond's way before).

A few examples from the movie:

In the rooftop chase between Bond and Mitchell, it is obvious that both characters are wearing black running shoes, whereas before the chase started both were wearing smart black suit shoes.

During the film, Bond flies to the airport in Bregenz, Austria. There is no airport in Bregenz.

When Bond is talking to Mathis at a table at the cottage in Italy, Mathis' watch faces the side of his wrist, to be easily seen on camera. Then in the next shot it suddenly faces the outside of his wrist like watches are usually worn.

Check out the full nitpick list RIGHT HERE.

Extra Tidbit: I was really hoping for more nip-slips. Mostly from the ladies.

yawn, everyone needs to quit bitching about quantum of solace. it is arguably disappointing compared to casino royale, but at least it wasn't die another day or a view to a kill.

Guess what

"There is no airport in Bregenz." No crap there isn t a a real James Bond either did any of those dumb asses point that out? How can there be factual errors in something that is pure fiction? By the way there isnt a starport on Tatooine either, that's another factual error that always gets overlooked! Stupid!

Another error I noticed was that here we have a picture of Bond, no Bond girl. That should have been caught before this story was uploaded.

Hey, some people just love movies and it takes eagle-eyed viewers to spot some of the best mistakes ever. Double kudos goes out to factual errors.

Anyway, i respect those who actually manages to point out the mistakes in QoS, as I had a hard time opening my eyes to even watch the damn movie, what with all the cringing and disappointment.

I think we should all apoligize to Joblo...First of all, I did say "who gives a shit", but people, look. Its a movie site, you shouldn't say "Pull this article" or something like that. This is nothing to get furious about. Take it easy.

Get a life!

The film came out less than a week ago and some people have seen it enough to pick up all this? Unless this is the only reason they 'watch' movies, I say who cares? Bond still kicks ass and Tarantino will always be overrated!

Agreed!

Watching QoS, I noticed a few errors that totally TOOK ME OUT OF THE MOVIE! Mainly, *SPOILER* when Bond is holding Matheson after he's shot in the street. Blood on Bond's hand kept changing in amount between each shot.

I agree, who cares, right? Then again, when it takes you OUT of the MOVIE and all you can do is pay attention to the mistake (as small as it may be), then it's kind of a big deal.

And for all those who are ANGRY about this--relax. Get over yourselves. Stop crying over

wow, angry much?

Not sure I understand where all this ANGER is coming from, but we've posted stories about moviemistakes.com before and most people seemed to appreciate the head's up.

It's all in "good fun", folks. If you don't like the article or their site, that's fine, but really...what's with all the putdowns? Calm down. Even if it IS a slow news day...yeah, it happens...

who fucking cares

This isn't even news. People that look for this stuff and let other people know about it, obviously don't enjoy watching movies. They're more interested in telling other people that all movies suck and shouldn't be watched because they aren't perfect.

No one cares about this crap. The only thing I find stupider than this article is the fact that no one seems to care that Star Wars has OVER 400 errors. Way more than most of the big budget films of today.

Who cares? Nothing is perfect so there are going to be minor slip-ups in movies. But that there are people who actually take the time just to find them is beyond stupid. I can see that it has been a slow news day, but was this really necessary?

Further proof that people need more to do.

Hell, I've never even heard of Bregenz, so shame on me for not catching that ridiculous airport fact.

Agreed with MovieManiac and Mister Noir. I can't stand fuckers who see films only to spot continuity errors. Or count how many different types of profanity is used or keeping track of body counts.

Granted the last one is kinda cool but still, they're missing the point - all of them a waste of life.

I was too busy enjoying the movie to give a fuck. People who actually waste their lives keeping track of this sort of thing should be shot.

Quantum is defined as a "specified quantity". In the context of the film title, Quantum follows the physics definition, meaning "he smallest quantity of some (physical) property". i.e., Quantum of Solace being "a small amount of comfort" for Bond.

So when you call this article "Quantum of errors" you're actually implying that the film has very few errors!

Whoever does this for a living is truly a waste of a life. Its so irrelevant. All it proves is that scenes aren't shot in sequence. And we already know that, so the whole idea of pointing out minute errors in films is pointless.

darnit

I like finding slip ups and stuff, but I really like Marc Forster and I hate to see him belittled like that, b/c honestly none of that matters to the plot...
