Quentin Tarantino nixes plans for Kill Bill Volume 3

Dec. 11, 2012by: Alex Maidy

Quentin Tarantino is taking a page from Guillermo Del Toro and telling fans that a long awaited project will in fact not becoming a reality.

In an interview with We Got This Covered, Tarantino was asked about his proposed third entry in the KILL BILL saga. His answer was “I don’t know if there’s ever going to be a Kill Bill. Vol 3. We’ll see, probably not though.”

Tarantino had always said he wanted to revisit The Bride years later, possibly focusing on the daughter of Vernita Green coming back to avenge her mother's death. But, with his recent claims that he has retirement on his mind, Tarantino may be more likely to focus on original stories and projects rather than go back to completed films. It took a long time before he rules out THE VEGA BROTHERS and now it seems KILL BILL will not get a final chapter to make it a trilogy.

I'm sad...

That this will not becoming a reality and it took a long time before he rules out THE VEGA BROTHERS.

Re The Vega Brothers

Here's something I could imagine Tarantino doing: have the Vega Brothers played by younger actors, but cast Travolta and Madsen as the antagonists

I'm only upset because he'd been talking about it enough that I figured at least he'd get that under his belt before retirement. Having said that, you can't exactly have a Kill Bill trilogy anyway. As Tarantino has moved closer and closer to mainstream with his movies (or mainstream for Quentin) I think the best thing for him is to focus on what piques his interest.

I do have a very real fear he will make good on his promise of retirement. Unlike Soderberg, his is more to do with the

I do have a very real fear he will make good on his promise of retirement. Unlike Soderberg, his is more to do with the changing industry, and when he no longer recognizes it as what he wanted to do, he'll do something else. Hopefully we'll at least have a couple more outta him, but he says he wants to end on a high note, and if it's not Kill Bill 3, that's fine by me.

In Regards to the Vega Brothers Movie

@BojacRedleif+2
The supposed Vega Brothers movie would have taken place before the events of Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction when they spent time in Amsterdam together. If it were still the 90s I would have been all for it. I can't imagine Travolta and Madsen playing younger versions of themselves.

I have mixed feelings about this....on one hand I would like to see Kill Bill Vol.3 because I belive there is a good strong story and characters there. but on the other hand sequel dont seem to be Tarantino's style really, I think if he wrote 3 stories ahead of time, then he would def make another Kill Bill.

another medium

Instead of a movie, have a story played out in some other way. A comic book, anime series, novel, as long as Tarantino writes it, i'm willing to give it a try.

I kinda want to see another Kill Bill movie (i just revisited the saga this week) but really i just want to know if there is a story to continue. If Beatrix and B.B. ride off into the sunset and live happily ever after, then fine. But if Tarantino does have an outline for the tale to continue, i hope he doesnt keep that locked up.

Even if its just an outline, like what JK Rowling did for Harry Potter.

i am actually happy to hear this after hearing all the ideas of KB3. unless it was going to be prequels of how all these bad ass assassins got together i wasn't looking forward to it.

Alternate reality Vega Bros!

Madsen and Travolta can switch hair styles, QT retcons the story so that they're both still alive. It'll be amazing!

No they shouldn't retcon it. It should be like a prequel with bald Travolta and outta shape Madsen.

Well, that's disappointing. Kill Bill is probably my fave Tarantino film, so it's disappointing there won't be more. Hopefully Tarantino changes his mind, but I don't see that happening.

Y'know what I'd like?

The Vega Brothers movie with old Madsen and Travolta, but like they don't address that these guys died in their 30s,
