Rachel Weisz shares about filming The Bourne Legacy and Oz the Great and Powerful

This summer will see Rachel Weisz, an actress beautiful both in looks and skill, starring opposite Jeremy Renner and Edward Norton in Tony Gilroy’s THE BOURNE LEGACY.  When asked in an interview with MTV whether it was “a no brainer” to accept the part, she replied with an emphatic “oh yeah!” Which is understandable, because Gilroy’s MICHAEL CLAYTON is a fantastic film and that teaser trailer really did look excellent.

“I’ve just been in the Philippines for two months doing stunts, essentially running through the streets of Manila,” Weisz revealed. “Basically, in ‘Bourne,’ it turns out that you do your own stunts. You just do all of them, and that’s kind of normal. I didn’t know it was going to be quite as scary as it was, but I feel like more of a man getting through it.”

And if BOURNE doesn’t have enough Weisz for you (but really, is there ever enough?), then there’s also Sam Raimi’s OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL to look forward to.  While Weisz hasn’t necessarily seen any footage, there was still plenty she could say about the project.

“It’s absolutely separate from the classic film… it’s pre-Dorothy.  It’s really nothing to do with ‘The Wizard of Oz’ in a sense. It’s much, much earlier.  It’s how the wizard, James Franco, ended up in the Emerald City,” Weisz explained. “In the Emerald City, there live three witches: Glinda—Michelle Williams—who is the good witch, Theodora—Mila Kunis—and myself are sisters. I’m a big sister, and we both are more on the dark side.”  I don’t know if the pun of “dark side” was intentional or not, but further on in the interview Weisz explained that the key to the particular witch she plays was/is the fact that she uses lightning-based magical powers.

THE BOURNE LEGACY will release August 3rd of this year, while OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL is set for March 8th of 2013.
