You guys blast WoW as below Raimi, but you have no idea how deep and rich the lore is. The world is bigger that Lotr, and the characters are extremely interesting.

It wont be that difficult to pull off live action with Lotr paving the way. I am upset that they are setting the Horde up as the villains apparently. They really should focus on the tenuous alliance that was forged to...

In no way should it be live action. They should stick with CGI just like the trailers and cutscenes were for the game. Making it live action and NO ORCS will make it look like another Dungeons & Dragons movie. And we all know how THAT turned out.

Having never played the game, I am not a conisseur on the subject; however, if there is anybody who I will stand in line for a new flick, it's Sam Raimi. Like I said, don't know the plot or characters, but this seems like a good fit for him on paper.

Something like this sounds right up Sam Raimi's alley. Great directing choice. Monsters, medieval weapons, and magic on an epic scale. This will definitely be the biggest video game movie to date.

I've been hoping for a WARCRAFT film ever since the second game. Is it guaranteed to be good? Not in the slightest. Is there potential to be good? Most definitely! Should Raimi really be the one to direct it? *Shrugs* But this is still pretty sweet news.

It definitely has potential to be cool, so I don't know why people are dismissing it so quickly. I doubt it will be like other adaptations where the studio didn't give a shit if it was actually good.

I personally would not blame Raimi entirely for the lack of Evil Deadness. Take a look at The Chin's IMDB page. He has essentially forsaken every other project in order to be in Burn Notice. Something tells me that The Chin might be just a little tired of being The Chin.

meh. it'd be nice if peter jackson was involved somehow. i'm not sure if raimi is the best choice (i'm sorry....but i just can't forget spiderman3).

the lore for that game is almost too big/too much to justify a movie being made. but whatver.

Sounds really lame. Raimi seems to be looking for any excuse not to make Evil Dead 4. Now he's choosing to adapt a video game into a movie rather than do Evil Dead 4. I guess ED 4 will never happen at least not with the aging Campbell.

It's supposed to be more about the factions and how the tension between the two grew, ultimately leading to an epic battle. Rather than an essentially journey type movie (like LoTR).

Otherwise, this is great news. Warcraft's story has grown in size and scope, with Raimi attached, at least it shows Blizzard cares enough to have some (massive) talent behind the camera unlike say the Dungeon Siege...
