You read that headline correctly. Ralph "Daniel-san" Macchio has joined the cast of ALFRED HITCHCOCK AND THE MAKING OF PSYCHO. He will be playing screenwriter Joseph Stefano. As you can see from the image above, there is a bit of a resemblance.

Macchio, best known for THE KARATE KID trilogy and his recent stint on Dancing with the Stars, joins the cast that already boasts Jessica Biel, Anthony Hopkins, James D'Arcy, Helen Mirren, and Scarlett Johansson.

It is nice to see Macchio getting a role in a pretty big film since he is actually a decent actor. Stefano was an important character in the creation of PSYCHO and the well known bad blood between him and Hitchcock will make for some interesting screen time between Macchio and Hopkins.

Extra Tidbit: Who would win in a fight: Daniel-san or Hannibal Lecter?

Very refreshing piece of casting, I'd say it's about damn time and he looks way more than a bit like Stefano.

Regarding the tidbit: I fucking hate mash-ups, 'cause they hardly ever work. But The Karate Kid VS Hannibal Lecter sounds so delightfully inspired.

I say Daniel-san triumphs in the end, with a crane kick to the neck.

I'm glad for Macchio, but after seeing that picture and googling Joseph Stefano, John Turturro would've been a much better pick...
