Where's Rambo going? Is it still going anywhere?

Sly Stallone wanted to clear up the details on RAMBO 5, as well as his other upcoming film. So he sent an email to STALLONEZONE (awesome name btw) to discuss the status:

From Sly

Hi Craig,

This is from Sly to your followers:

To all the loyal SZoners out there,

I’m letting you know that Rambo has changed course and the story about hunting the man/beast will be done using another character in the lead. RAMBO himself will be heading over the border to a violent city where many young women have vanished.

There will be blood.

Best,

Sly Stallone

I'm down for anything that has a "man/beast" in it. Or if Stallone is kicking it's ass into oblivion. The last Rambo was amazeballs, so I'm pretty sure this one will be too, no matter what it's about.

So prepare yourself for two neck snapping action films from the Italian stallion! RAMBO 5 and what might be an adaption of the novel "Hunter" by James Byron Huggins. Bring on the Asian prostitutes! (Um...wait...no)

Extra Tidbit: Don't Google this, but what Stallone movie is this from? "Aw, it's no use, Doc. I'll never learn to talk good. "

still think its a bad idea
why doesn't Rambo just go back to Afghanistan and kick-some taliban ass??! His sidekick in Rambo III could play the good guy gone bad.

i rather take the Stallone's hammy brutal directing style than any Bournish shaky-shake action.

thatīs so easy :)
the movie is Oscar :P

i actually enjoyed every minute of that flick, itīs a light comedy on gangster movies, but a very good movie experience, above all, it just leaves you with a good feeling afterwards :)

which is ok in my book ;)

No more Rescue Missions
I don't think the next Rambo should be another "rescue mission" movie. They've done 3 movies with that plot so far. It would be nice if this one tried something new, or made Rambo be the one who was hunted again, and bring it full circle to First Blood.

everything about the last movie was over the top action murder violent bloody mutilated insanity... except for every actor other then Sly. They all just sucked. Not even mediocre.. just terrible. So if you can get at least a C list supporting cast it can be even better then IV.

really? I've been living under a rock? That's odd, I remember the first movie having multiple emmy and golden globe winners in it. I guess my rock must be clouding my mind.

if you were actually expecting something else out of a Rambo movie, then youve been living under a rock all your life

Amazing!
What can I say? All these years of ridicule by critics and hecklers and Stallone stands shoulders above "real actors" as an artist that TRULY knows his fans and gives them what they want.

Mr. Stallone, you ARE THE MAN and ALWAYS will be! 'Nuff said! (and if you're old enough to know that saying's meaning, thumbs up to the survivors!)

On the one hand I'm glad he's making the man/beast thing its own thing; on the other, I still can't believe he's still planning to do another Rambo. As far as I'm concerned he gave the character perfect closure in the last flick, like he did with Rocky. Rambo went home. Leave him be.

Yes!
Amazing, Sly saw our posts and change her mind about the "man/beast" movie (Im feeling important right now!). Great news! I prefer another RAMBO movie in a "real scenario" and the HUNTER adaptation with another lead. And c'on Sly, its time to fight zombies in another new movie!

awesome
i hope stallone will save R rated action movies much like apatow and rogen saved R rated comedies. They already wimped up the Die Hard and Terminator franchises. Dont budge on any of it Sly. as a matter of fact, fire avi lerner. all he wants is PG13 garbage action movies, which is obviously not what the fans want. you dont hear anyone asking for more Die hards nor Terminators, yet we're all...

Can do no wrong in my opinion (except for STOP! OR MY MOM WILL SHOOT), and John Rambo is a character that can see endless possibilities.

I'm glad the man-beast is going to be a separate movie, because while I'd definitely see it, it just doesn't seem like something Rambo should be involved in. I'm so glad Stallone's back!

Thanks For The Update, Sly!
To say I'm balls-to-the-walls excited about the next Rambo would be an understatement to say the very least. The fact that Sly himself takes the time to update his fans on RAMBO V speaks volumes about the screen legend's committment to his audience. I am also relieved to hear Rambo will not deal with the supernatural. I want my Rambo fighting the forces of human evil, and let's be honest, no...

I am also relieved to hear Rambo will not deal with the supernatural. I want my Rambo fighting the forces of human evil, and let's be honest, no creature could hope to upstage the pure evil in man's vicious heart.

Keep it R and keep it high-octane all the way, Sly! You are the best!!!!

Well, not everyone can be a fan of the word. *shrugs* I also wouldn't use "roll off the tongue" and "amazeballs" in the same sentence here. :) Then again, you could get lucky, they're not always mean.

I didn't think it was a good use of the term at all. in fact, I knew it was a girl writing the article before I saw who it was because of the aweful word "amazeballs". For some reason, it doesn't sound right.
P.S.- I was going to say amazeballs doesn't "roll off the tongue right" until I starting chuckling myself, I can only imagine what you guys would say about it!

I thought Rambo 4 was a real action movie with a real man in the lead, He's still kicking ass in his sixties and looks more capable than most guys half his age, If Hollywood is willing to cast a wimp like Orlando Bloom in Kingdom of Heaven, I for one am glad that Sly is bringing us another Rambo to keep them honest.can't wait.
