Brett Ratner UGO recently spoke to hacktastic snatch magnet Brett Ratner and when asked about his upcoming projects, he casually mentioned that one of his projects includes GOD OF WAR, a feature adaptation of the eponymous mega popular video game. He didn't outright mention that he'd be directing the film so he could just be producing it - though it's unlikely considering how much opportunity the source material provide for mindless entertainment only a fauxteur of Ratner's caliber can provide. The series follows the adventures of Spartan warrior Kratos and his rather tumultuous relationship with the gods of Olympus. Throughout the course of the series, Kratos has become the god of war, teamed up with the Titans to take down the gods, gone toe to toe with Zeus and who knows what else he's gonna do when the latest game in the series is released next year. In any case, what do you guys think of The Rat being behind this adaptation?

Gerard Butler
Isaysme you know i never thought about him, but i think Butler would be perfect as Kratos as long as he can tone down his accent a bit he'd be badass! Good call

I heard awhile back that Djimon Hounsou was attached to th role of Kratos. I still think he'll make a good kratos. He's got the built, face & looks for it. But I don't think Ratner should direct it, I mean he fuck up X-Men 3 & Rush Hour 3!

Meh, all he has to do is cast Christian Bale as Kratos and he'll receive a get-out-of-jail-free card, just like McG.

Screw Ratner and a live-action Kratos, no one is good enough for the character. Get Pixar to make an ADULT animated movie, and God Of War would be the perfect first choice.

Is there a petition?
Ratner is one step away from Uwe Boll status. (Okay maybe that's exteme) But I really don't want him anywhere near my beloved God Of Warm adaption.

not being racist or anything but isn't the character supposedly from sparta?...then how the hell would you cast honsou or vin diesel?....it's a mythological tale but still set in particular times and location. Let alone the fact that kratos is not a deity...

its fine (sort of) to mess around with comic book character's ethnicities but having a black man play a spartan is like...

I'm sure bertolucci would have loved it..

I never used to have a problem with Ratner but after some of his "recent" proposals for movies he'd like to direct he's clearly lost the plot.

Fat fucking piece of garbage...
The film is ruined.

Ratner is a piece of shit.

It's gonna be shit as is, with it being based on a video game, but now Ratner's involvement actually makes it amazingly shittier.

"Fauxteur" is a good one.

He's garbage, and has no place directing even CUMSLUTS on the bangbus.

F*CK NO!! NO NO NO!!
I've said it a dozen times before and I'll say it again; I hate this man. I hate him with a passion! And that ridiculous photo of him only makes me hate the f*cknut more! Why, damnit?! Why would Sony give this walking pile of crap something like God Of War? What did he ever do to prove himself who could make epic period-piece movies? This is my favorite videogame of all time... why couldn't...

here comes the bullshit
Ratner shouldnt be allowed to direct traffic much less God of War. Although i do agree with Nathan Jones as Kratos, but he would have to prove that his acting skills go beyond yelling and tossing around small thai men.

So much for a "good" brainless action flick based on a fun-as-hell game series.

I agree on the Nathan Jones front. He would seriously have to prove himself on the dialogue front, but he damn sure got the physical presence. Ratner sucks, but I would rather have him direct this than to have some director with the last name of Anderson get his mitts on it. Nuff said...

This is quite possibly the worst thing to happen since the Holocaust. I love and admire the in-game narrative from God of War; Ratner is not the guy you want to bring it to film.

I don't think Vin Diesel would be a bad choice for Kratos. But you would have to get the voice actor from the game, Terrence Carson.

Ratner should just stop looking for something to do and wait for someone to give him something. but wait....then he'd be out of the job.

Has the look 100%. Brett Ratner would be out of his element by far for this, you need a director who can capture the dark, stylistic, mythos of the gods and Kratos, so someone like Chris Nolan and his brother or Zack Snyder would work wonders. Or...
