This was making the online rounds early yesterday/late the night before but got lost in the hustle and bustle. Nevertheless, here is a truly wonderful interview that Esquire Magazine's Chris Jones conducted with legendary film critic Roger Ebert. It's a poignant and inspiring look at a man whose love of movies and writing has helped propel him through a time that would likely have broken most others. Great stuff.

"When I am writing my problems become invisible and I am the same person I always was. All is well. I am as I should be."

Read the entire interview RIGHT HERE or Ebert's own follow-up to the story HERE.
Extra Tidbit: And when you're done with that, go back in time to 2004 when JoBlo himself sat down and spoke to the man.

Great guy

I was lucky enough to sit next to him for a screening at Sundance. I was too intimidated to say much to him, but he seemed like a great guy. Hopefully we'll be able to read his reviews for years to come.

I was wondering that myself. Not sure how one goes from "massive stroke" to "half my jaw is missing". Someone must know...

He had his lower jaw completely removed after a complication in a surgery he had to remove a tumor in that area. It's all outlined in the article. Give it a read- well worth the time.

Everybody NEEDS to read this. You will fall in love with both the movies and the power of the written word all over again.
