Read J.J. Abrams’ note to the Star Wars cast and crew

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

As we learned last week, principal photography has begun on STAR WARS: EPISODE VII. Think of that, a new Star Wars movie is happening. When the cast that included members from the original trilogy was revealed, this jaded Star Wars fan couldn’t help but feel a warm sense of nostalgia.

Not helping with emotions, J.J. Abrams has decided to say a few words to his cast and crew in a note that has now made its way online.

Here is a transcription in case you can't read hieroglyphics:

Dearest Cast and Crew, What an honor it is to work beside all of you, on Star Wars Ep VII. I can’t thank you enough, for all work past and future. Let’s take good care of not just ourselves, but of each other. Amazing, but true: the world awaits this film. Let’s give ‘em something GREAT. xo JJ

A classy move from Abrams; makes you wonder how close the set will be and how much fun they are all going to be having. Meanwhile we continue to wait for any and all news. I've looked at this note a dozen times and can't find one hint or Easter egg regarding the plot. Unless, wait a tick. Take the first letter from each line: DWBIPOAL. That could be “Droids will build imperial…" nope. I'm drunk.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII arrives in theaters on December 18, 2015.

Are you ready to journey back to a galaxy far far away?
