Red Band trailer for Friends With Kids is ripe with comedy and Megan Fox

Feb. 17, 2012by:

Yesterday, we brought you the red band trailer for the Paul Rudd/Jennifer Aniston comedy WANDERLUST and today we have some red band goodness for FRIENDS WITH KIDS, starring Adam Scott, Jennifer Westfeldt, Kristen Wiig, Jon Hamm, Maya Rudolph, and Chris O'Dowd.

Check out the trailer below:

Looks like a good time to me, but I fit the target audience.  I'm curious if this would appeal to the younger audiences, even with an R-rating.  There's absolutely a place for all types of films, including this one, whose appeal would fall to an older demographic, just as PROJECT X was not necessarily made for me.  Not that I couldn't enjoy it, but those days are behind me.  FREINDS WITH KIDS days are the future for younger audiences.  Not sure if they want to be reminded of that.

Aside from taking a lead role, Jennifer Westfeldt wrote and directed the film. She made a great impression with the indie hit KISSING JESSICA STEIN back in 2001 and has since done mostly TV work, including roles on 24 and Grey's Anatomy.

The pic boasts a great cast, especially with BRIDESMAIDS stars Wiig, Hamm, and Rudolph, as well as indie guy Edward Burns and mega hottie Megan Fox along for the ride.  I like that Adam Scott is in the lead role, as he's impressed with roles in TV shows like Parks and Recreation and movies like STEPBROTHERS.  It'll be nice to see him tackle the challenge. And check out our review from the Toronto Film Festival for more insight.

FRIENDS WITH KIDS opens on March 9, 2012.

Extra Tidbit: Does it matter to you whether a comedy is adult-themed or teen-themed? What's the cut off for your enjoyment of a comedy?

this movie has a great premise, and although all the naysayers are blowing the movie out of the water already saying it will suck, i stand by my hope, that it will be good

I'm in, but seriously...

how the hell does a guy let a kid get THAT MUCH SHIT EVERYWHERE from simply changing him/her?

Believe it or not, she gives one of the better performances in the movie. Jennifer Westfeldt is horrific in it - her acting is almost as scary as her Botoxed-to-death face.

looks good

That actually looks pretty funny. That's going on my to-see list. As far as the extra tidbit is concerned: I find most teen-themed comedies too stupid to even consider watching. The fact that I'm so far past that age might have something to do with it. (But not everything).

I dont understand the extra tidbit. Unless you can't be objective about movies, a theme never matters, whether it's a comedy, a drama, a thriller, whatever ... as long as it's well executed.
