Red-band trailer for Lars Von Trier's Nymphomaniac might get you fired if you watch it at work

I just don't think NSFW would cut it as we often brush that off, but seriously, unless you want to get caught watching porn at work I'd wait til you're at home or behind closed doors for this one. It shouldn't be that shocking to hear that, though, as it's kind of expected from director Lars Von Trier and for a movie called NYMPHOMANIAC. And, in truth, the movie looks like a pretty good "shockfest" in terms of what's being displayed in a psuedo-mainstream film (I say that, as I highly doubt this will get a wide release, particularly in the U.S.). Titillating, controversial, and well-shot, the film will no doubt ruffle feathers and it feels like that may be the only reason it exists.

Take a look:

Here's the synopsis:

A self-diagnosed nymphomaniac recounts her erotic experiences to the man who saved her after a beating.

I'm not really a fan of Lars Von Trier, although this does look enticing in an almost depraved way. Is this really art or are we watching it for the sick thrill? It's hard to say, really, and I'm sure there will be much debate once it hits theaters. I'm certainly intrigued, even at a base level.

NYMPHOMANIAC, starring Charlotte Gainsburg, Uma Thurman, Shia LaBeouf, Stellan Skarsgård, Connie Nielsen, Jamie Bell, Christian Slater, Udo Kier, Sophie Kennedy Clark, Stacy Martin, and Willem Dafoe, hits Denmark on December 25, 2013 with other European cities shortly after. No U.S. date has been announced.
