FAST 8, the next entry in the Fast and Furious film franchise, is expected to head into production soon for its April 14, 2017 release with STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON's F. Gary Gray behind the camera, and there's been talk that the FURIOUS 7 sequel will be the first installment of a series-ending trilogy. Late last night, star Vin Diesel took to Instagram to announce that currently untitled ninth and tenth Fast and Furious movies will arrive in theaters on April 19, 2019 and April 2, 2021.

Obviously at this point we have no clue what Dominic Toretto and his gang will be up to in the next three films, but last week we learned that FAST 8 will feature Iceland's largest explosion ever, with filming also taking place in New York City and possibly Cuba.

While the main series of F&F movies will likely wrap up with the tenth installment, it probably won't be the end of the franchise since Universal is also developing spinoff movies, and Dwayne Johnson's Luke Hobbs character might be the focus of one of them. Are you ready for more Fast and Furious flicks, or do you think the studio should tap the breaks on the franchise?

Even though I'm not a huge fan of the franchise at all, I do hope that these next three films are more like the original in terms of better storytelling and less over the top stunts. The last one (despite being entertaining) was a little too over the top in some parts.

I'm a huge F&F fan and I'm in, just as long as they stop milking this "one last ride" BS that no one believes anymore. And they need to realize it's not about going bigger each time. It's about creative action sequences that keep us entertained but still invested in the characters. Fast Five is a great example. Even just running on the roof tops in Rio was a cool scene, there were some nice jumps and stunts, but it didn't have to go to the "skydiving cars" level to entertain us.

F9st & Fur10us.. Hehe! Couldn't resist

As long there are cars to sell then yeah. Who knows this could be a chance to resolve the "timeline" between Tokyo Drift & F7 and maybe have Lucas Black (gasp)... Take up the mantle of Dom's right hand man because its so obvious!! Then Brian will simply be "He Who Must Not Be Named" like what TDKR did with the Joker.

Btw i've got nothing against Lucas Black and feel F. Gary Gray will know how to place him because onscreen team-chemistry (Set It Off, The Italian Job) is his specialty as

I've been digging the revised F&F franchise since # 4 I guess. Maybe #5 to be more specific.

To be honest, I feel like the series is starting to run it's course. In #5 they all talked about one last heist to make some money and go straight. In #6 their records were wiped clean and they were allowed to return home as reward for help Hobbs' character. In #7 it was all about revenge for Han. Not sure where else to go in #8-10, if it is indeed an over-arching trilogy to end the series, then

Once it's done, I'd love to see a Hobbs spinoff. #5 - #7 gave enough of a hint as to how his or organization works. It would be awesome to have a movie following Hobbs and his team as they track down international criminals.

I've been a fan since the beginning...but they've only been knocking them out of the park since 5. More of that, and I'll happily take two more decades of this stuff. I also have no issue with a FCU but probably not a good idea to refer to it like that :o)

Why not? It's a very lucrative franchise. As long as Vin Diesel is in, I'm there. But the question is whether or not they can up the ridiculousness and the craziness after each sequel.

Shouldn't be that hard because at this point the main cast are practically superheroes what with leaping from tanks, fighting highly trained henchmen/women and kicking their asses (Gina Carano & Rhonda Rhousey, seriously?), surviving fiery explosions & head-on collisions and walking way with only scratches. I wouldn't be surprised if Sung Kang's character appears once again and goes "pfft! please..you ALL thought Letty died. Well what the heck does that make me?"

Hahaha, you're totally right. At this point they're probably as invincible as Superman.

Finish the last three

Fuck it why not, as long as they are entertaining they don't have to be Oscar winners
