A comic project you might be happy to hear some news from is GREEN LANTERN.

Hal Jordan himself, Ryan Reynolds is talking about how LANTERN out of costume is just as compelling as Tony Stark when he isn't IRON MAN, "I think you walk away from this first film, and the moments that you remember and the moments that mean so much to you, not unlike 'Iron Man,' are the moments where the guy's not in the suit."Obviously, there's a character difference between Jordan and Stark. Jordan was a air force pilot who was transported to an spacecraft where alien, Abin Sur gives him a ring that gives him tremendous power. Then you have Stark, the playboy genius industrialist who heads up Stark Industries. These are two totally separate personalities, and Reynolds gets that, "That to me is the tough thing to get right. And that's something that they did get right [in 'Iron Man']. You see why this guy's in the suit, and that's what's interesting to me. Not that he is in the suit, but why."

He didn't say anything about a traditional origins story, even though the general audience will not be familiar with Hal Jordan, "It is [an origin story] to a certain degree, but it's not a labored origin story, where the movie [truly] begins in the third act. The movie starts when it starts. We find out Hal is the guy fairly early on, and the adventure begins." Here's hoping everything comes out, a-okay.

Extra Tidbit: It's nearly impossible to find a picture of Reynolds with his shirt on. Okay, I get it, he has hot abs! Who cares?! Geez...

Don't count reynolds out
Reynolds is gonna surprise people with this performance, just as much as RDJ surprised with his performance in Ironman. Don't count Ryan Reynolds out. He IS the guy for this.

I just dont know
I like him but I dont think he can carry this type of movie. I find it very hard to take him serioulsy so dramatic lines come off as giggles to me, because Van Wilder just said it. Hopefully action will be awesome bc his acting probably wont be, remeber he has track record of appearing in some of the worst comic movies of all time and destroying 2 of the most beloved (Hannibal King and Deadpool)

You've seen one pic of him with his shirt off you've seen them all. It's like freaking out over everyone that takes their shirt off in New Moon. I'm just not that crazy over muscular guys. I'll remember to post a shirtless one for you sometime tho. lol :)

They could kinda do what they did for "Spider-Man" which I consider the first movie that really made human alter-egos more compelling than their super-hero counterparts. "Iron Man" might've done it better though.

I'm cool with less of an origin story. It worked for Batman (1989). Sure his origins were told in flashback, but it wasn't as heavy-handed as, say, Daredevil which is just horrible. I'd like to see more mainstream superheroes take the Indiana Jones/Man With No Name approach.

Why not, he's in everything else.

Chris Pine for Flash!
Reynolds does indeed get attached to a hell of a lot of comic book flicks. Pine would be a good choice for Flash. If that thing gets made any time soon.

reynolds starring in every comic book role for the foreseeable future...

seriously;

Deadpool,

Lantern,

Hannibal King,

and wasn't he a favorite for Flash...

hey...could he play Flash and Lantern and then duel roles in JLA?

Glad to hear it. Im really sick of the "labored origin storys." There is only so many times I can watch a hero clumsily use his powers before beating a bad guy
