Robert Englund crushes fans' dreams that he'll ever return as Freddy again

100%

Freddy is definitely dead.

Or at least Robert Englund's version of the horror icon is.

Amidst all sorts of hopes and dreams from NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET fans, Englund took to his Twitter earlier today to put a stop to all the calls that he just put on the glove one more time instead of whatever New Line might be planning for the franchise in the next few years.

That certainly seems like an absolute, once and for all, so, if you've been begging and pleading the fandom gods for Englund's return to the role that he'll be associated with forever, you might want to let that one go. It's not happening - not today, not tomorrow, not ever. It's time to move on.

Sincerely,

The Bearer of Bad News

He went out on a high note. Based off how crappt these horror remakes are, even if he were to come back, they would probably screw it up somehow and waste his time and talent.

Awwww........

Well, he is stating the obvious. There is no Freddy movie. He isn't signed to play Freddy.
If you wanted to revive Freddy though......
I would like to see Robert as Freddy again provided it was a horror movie. I cant stand slashers where the villain becomes the anti-hero. Be inventive and you can bring Freddy back. Just don't pull a Rob Zombie like Halloween.

I'm not the least bit let down by this, the guy made and owned that role for 7 movies. You've given this series so much love and enthusiasm and you'll always be remembered for it.
