Robert Pattinson and Sarah Gadon gaze at each other in this photo from David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis

4 years agoby:

Principal photography recently started on David Cronenberg‘s COSMOPOLIS and thanks to Cronenberg's daughter, Caitlin, we have our first look at the film.

Caitlin posted this image in her status along with the photo:

"Hot off the press release! Proud! "ROBERT PATTINSON as Eric and SARAH GADON as Elise in COSMOPOLIS"

The adaptation of the book by Don DeLillo, "follows the life of newly married billionaire Eric Packer (Pattinson) as he cheats on his wife (Gadon), is pursued by a stalker (Giamatti), gets attacked by a protester and gradually loses his entire fortune over the course of a single day." Much of the story takes place in the back of a limo, but the vehicle in the photo below looks more like a taxi.

Should be interesting.

Extra Tidbit: I'm willing to give Pattinson a chance, especially if Cronenberg took such a shine to him.

If Cronenbeg has faith so do I.

If he's trying to shy away from that twilight crap than i'm all for it. I like the pic, speaks volumes to me.

Pattison will never be taken seriously. He and Kristin Stewart set back the human race a few decades.

Pattinson

I severely dislike this glitter douche named Robert Pattinson.

For the record, if he were truly box office gold as the Twilight movies would suggest, "Water for Elephants" would have made 100 million. That 9/11 movie would have been a hit. It wasn't. This despite having one of the biggest box office draws in terms of actresses in Reese Witherspoon for "Elephants."

Robert Pattinson will be box office kryptonite for a long time simply because no dude wants to see his movies. And last time

But hey, hopefully Cronenberg puts out a good one here for him to hang his out on. But let's keep in mind, everything Cronenberg make does not turn to gold. So we'll see.

I gave Pattinson the benefit of the doubt when I caught 'Water for Elephants' a couple of weeks back. He holds his ground in it, and I figured Cronenberg wouldn't have cast him for 'Cosmopolis' if he couldn't.

I despise the Twilight saga, but kudos for him for getting some credible roles and attempting to prove some of us wrong.

Trust Cronenberg

He'll get the best out of Pattinson. Can't wait to see Cronenberg's take on DeLillo, noone does literary adaptations as well as the Canadian

I'm sensing a double standard with the boys. Ashley Greene is allowed to move on from the Twilight fiasco but Robert isn't?
If he starts making five romcoms a year you can hate him, but give him a chance first.

I've heard something about a double standard in Hollywood. We should definitely feel sorry for the men - we've had it so hard.

I'd love to give him a chance. I'm willing to forget Remember Me.

If Cronenberg can see something in Pattison we haven't seen yet, then I believe we should wait and see. Pattison may not be a stellar actor right now, but perhaps this experience may give him a new lease on being an actor, allow him to grow.

I have this movie on my radar and I'm interested to see how Pattinson can fare in a Cronenberg flick. I like him and I think he can really shine in this movie. I don't think he's looking for $$$ in any of his movies. He's just doing what he wants right now and I respect that. I said on here a while back that I saw him at a bar here in my city and he was pretty chill and nice. Not a dick like some would believe with his level of fame.

As much as I love Cronenberg I can't trust any director blindly except Nolan(painful lesson from Brian Singer with Superman Returns) son I'm holding out for a good trailer the only thing I've ever seen Patterson in is Twilight and Harry Potter so my opinion of him is not that great. But the premise sounds interesting.
