Robert Redford & Nick Nolte vs nature in the trailer for A Walk in the Woods

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

If you were pining for the days of GRUMPY OLD MEN, then allow the soothing voices of Robert Redford and Nick Nolte to take you on a forest adventure! A WALK IN THE WOODS follows Bill Bryson (Robert Redford), who after spending two decades in England, decides to return to the U.S. Once there, he comes to the conclusion that the best way to connect with his homeland is to hike the Appalachian Trail with one of his oldest friends (Nick Nolte). Nick Offerman, a couple of bears and the bunk-bed gag from STEPBROTHERS ensues in this trailer!

As opposed to Alexander Payne's NEBRASKA, this flick about a man reconnecting with people and places from his past feels like it's playing things way too safe. The trailer probably doesn't help that, but at least folks know exactly what they're going to get with A WALK IN THE WOODS. Our own Chris Bumbray was able to check this one out at Sundance earlier this year (you can read his review here) but from the sound of things, A WALK IN THE WOODS is no walk in the park . . . which can sometimes resemble a wooded area.

A WALK IN THE WOODS hits theaters on September 2, 2015.
