Robert Rodriguez to direct Ugly Dolls animated flick

We just brought you the news the other day that SIN CITY/GRINDHOUSE director Robert Rodriguez is set to direct the ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK remake over at FOX. Today we bring you the news that he has yet another movie on his plate.

Turns out Rodriguez is set to direct his first animated feature with the flick UGLY DOLLS. 

UGLY DOLLS, for those who don't know, is based on the kids toys created by David Horvath. The toys are supposedly very popular in Asia. So that's something.

I don't know much about this UGLY DOLLS but I have posted some pics of the little fellas below for you to check out if you don't already own like a ton of them. Be honest.

The little dudes look cute as hell and now that I have a chance to really see the basic design of these toys, this looks like something that could really be up my alley, so to speak. We'll have to wait and see on that, though.

The movie will come out May 10, 2019.
