Rogue One namesake clip and Michael Giacchino’s score tracklist revealed

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

The first official STAR WARS spinoff is one week away and while I’m sure you’ve seen more TV spots than you could shake Yoda’s stick at, we do have a clip from the film that gives us an idea of how the title came to be thanks to Riz Ahmed‘s Empire pilot-turned-Rebel, Bodhi Rook! Now, before we continue, I also want to give you a head’s up that the tracklist for Michael Giacchino’s score for the film has been revealed and might give away some possible spoilers. While I would consider them “light spoilers” at best, for those of you looking to avoid such things, now’s your chance to turn away!

The clip above doesn’t really do much for me, but I’d like to see it in context. The crew isn’t exactly in much of a hurry, but they obviously are doing something sneaky. I’m guessing this scene will not be towards the beginning, given that K-2 seems to already trust Jyn. Moving on from that, the tracklist from the soundtrack seems to have leaked on some foreign sites. While the following isn’t confirmed, it does look likely for the upcoming release. Take a look!

  • 1. He’s Here For Us
  • 2. A Long Ride Ahead
  • 3. Wobani Imperial Labor Camp
  • 4. Trust Goes Both Ways
  • 5. When Has Become Now
  • 6. Jedha Arrival
  • 7. Jedha City Ambush
  • 8. Star-Dust
  • 9. Confrontation on Eadu
  • 10. Krennic’s Aspirations
  • 11. Rebellions Are Built on Hope
  • 12. Rogue One
  • 13. Cargo Shuttle SW-0608
  • 14. Scrambling the Rebel Fleet
  • 15. AT-ACT Assault
  • 16. The Master Switch
  • 17. Your Father Would Be Proud
  • 18. Hope
  • 19. Jyn Erso & Hope Suite
  • 20. The Imperial Suite
  • 21. Guardians of the Whills Suite

It’s lacking in puns that Giacchino is known for, although perhaps he’s playing it straight for his first STAR WARS score. I’m definitely excited to see that the John Williams tradition of including suites has been adopted, and am really looking forward to hearing how Giacchino incorporates Williams’ themes into his score. It won’t be too much longer until we can hear it for ourselves!
