Rooney Mara to replace Carey Mulligan in Spike Jonze’s next film

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Carey Mulligan has dropped out of Spike Jonze’s next film. You know, the one about the guy that falls in love with the voice of a computer. Sort of like Karen, Plankton’s computer on SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS. But probably more iPhone’s Siri.

Go to girl, Rooney Mara is in for Mulligan on this one. Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams and Samantha Morton are are also set to star. There were no details on Mara’s role.

When Mara is finished up with Stephen Soderbergh’s THE BITTER PILL, she will join up with Jonze.

Mara has been getting a lot of attention from top directors lately. Really, ever since she nabbed the role of Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher’s THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO. I was a little unsure about the casting, but she was great in the movie. I look forward to seeing what else she has in store for us.
