Update: Batman v Superman trailer attached to Mad Max: Fury Road

UPDATE – Looks like the folks over at Collider were correct as Variety has now confirmed that we will indeed be seeing our first glimpse of BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE in front of MAD MAX: FURY ROAD. Can't wait!

Aside from that small snippet of footage that leaked out of Comic-Con last year we've yet to see any official footage from the highly anticipated BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE. Everyone's been asking when a trailer would be coming and why it's not here right now and why daddy never came back when he went out for cigarettes; well, according to Collider, the wait may soon be over.

The first trailer for BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE is said to be attached to all copies of MAD MAX: FURY ROAD; as if you needed another reason to go see it. Now FURY ROAD won't premiere until May 15 so we still have a good month and change to find out if this is true or not. MAD MAX: FURY ROAD is Warner Bros first big film of the year so it would definitely make sense for them to throw in an anticipated trailer to give it an added boost.

While we're talking about BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, lets talk about Batman's new suit. The new Batsuit worn by Ben Affleck in the film has been a frequent topic amongst Batman fans, with many taking apart the few images we have of the actor in costume in order to understand it better. Costume designer Michael Wilkinson spoke with Fashionista today and gave a few details on working with Zack Snyder to make sure the characters have the right look:

[Zack] really wants these characters to connect directly to our world, so if you were walking down the street and you came across Superman or Batman — of course it would be startling and powerful — but it could actually happen in our world rather than in a stylized version of our reality.

One of the first obstacles Wilkinson had to tackle was what to do with Batman's cowl in order to make it a natural flexible thing that wouldn't hinder Batman's ability to turn his head.

That’s actually one of the first things that Snyder mentioned to me in one of our initial meetings. It’s a very important thing to Zack that the Batsuit would be comfortable and very flexible, but then would be able to perform in a very natural and forceful way. So a lot of incredible engineering went into the development of the new black cowl.

It sounds, and looks, as though they've found a happy medium between Batman's traditional cowl and its most recent incarnation in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. Speaking of, hopefully they've cast more than one Alfred in this film because Michael Wilkinson reveals that it takes multiple costumers close to thirty minutes to get Ben Affleck into his costume each day. If you're about to be murdered, don't bother calling for Batman; you'll be dead before he snaps on his codpiece.

It does involve multiple costumers, it’s not the sort of thing that I could just sit in Ben’s trailer and he gets into it himself. It’s a six-handed operation.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE hits theaters March 25, 2016 but time will tell whether you need to go see MAD MAX: FURY ROAD on May 15 in order to see your first peek of it on the big-screen. You really should be going to see FURY ROAD regardless, did you see that fantastic new trailer that dropped today? I really tried to hold off watching it but…I caved; no self control at all, it's back to rehab for me.
