Rumor: Jennifer Lawrence may join Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

A union many of us have wished for may soon become a reality; it’s been said that the great and powerful Jennifer Lawrence is in talks to join Quentin Tarantino’s latest grim tale, THE HATEFUL EIGHT. A report from Collider, which we will say is a rumor for now, suggests that Lawrence could play a role in the movie. There is already a teaser trailer that you will see this weekend in front of SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR (JimmyO's review) but it doesn’t go as far as setting up a cast.

Bruce Dern, Kurt Russell, Michael Madsen, James Remar, Walton Goggins, and Samuel L. Jackson have all been rumored since their participation in the live-reading of the script that took place, but that’s about it for casting talks. That teaser trailer, which we described for you, only has character name cards and the only female name card would be that of Daisy Domergue, "The Prisoner". The live-read had a second female role, Six Horse Judy played by Zoe Bell, but that role could have been scrapped.

Other than unsubstantiated news, there isn’t much more to go by here. If she is in fact talking about being in the film, with her busy schedule, don’t be surprised if it’s a cameo like that of Jonah Hill in DJANGO UNCHAINED. Since it’s so early in production too, QT could say to hell with a lot what we know already (thanks script leak) and re-write parts and gender-swap to his heart’s content.

The idea of having J-Law show up in a Tarantino movie is all kinds of exciting. She’s beautiful, talented, and has shown she can take on most any role; she also has a good eye for some outstanding parts so let’s hope this rumor holds true. THE HATEFUL EIGHT is still expected to be released late 2015.

Would you be up for Jennifer Lawrence in a Quentin Tarantino film?
