Rumor: Sylvester Stallone top choice for Mark Millar’s Starlight adaptation

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

So yet another Mark Millar adaptation is on the way. This time it's a sci-fi adventure (inspired by the likes of BUCK ROGERS and FLASH GORDON) called STARLIGHT. Here's the official plot synopsis:

The comic centers on Duke McQueen, a man who has long since settled down and left his days of saving the Universe and operating as the space hero everyone depended on—at least that’s what he thought. His wife long passed and his kids off embarking on their own adventures, Duke lives a quiet, solitary life until he receives an unexpected call from a distant world, calling him to action one last time.

Sounds solid. And it seems, according to Splash Report, that 20th Century Fox wants none other than Sylvester Stallone (next seen as another cosmic comic-book character in the upcoming GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, VOL. 2) as the main character. Which honestly seems like a great fit. He's still in-shape enough to be a credible threat/hero, but is old enough to show some vulnerability and pathos the part needs. This is actually exciting news, if the rumor turns out to be true.

But what do you Schmoes think? Any fans of the STARLIGHT comic? If so, what do you feel about the casting? Either way, sound off below!
