The first teaser trailer has debuted for the non-vampire Kristen Stewart vehicle THE RUNAWAYS, which features Stewart as the band’s guitarist (and sometimes vocalist), Joan Jett and NEW MOON co-star Dakota Fanning as lead singer Cherie Currie who has the propensity to wear lingerie on stage. Hey, if Fanning is old enough to eat people, she’s old enough to do this, right? 

Check out the trailer below, which features fifty seconds of hard rocking, but can’t convince me whether or not Kristen Stewart can act, or if the awful TWILIGHT scripts have just been holding her back. I guess we’ll find out. The film premieres at Sundance next month, and might expand further after that.

Check out "The Cake Eaters" Good movie, great music, and Kristen actually acted well in it. She once said that acting classes would ruin her. I think not. She has way too many mannerisms she can't get rid of.

hmmmm....
Was very much against this film regarding the cast, but this looks pretty decent and dark. Plus Michael Shannon is the Fing MAN!!

Uh... the Runaways did not "tear the world apart"!
I trust Stewart and Fanning but overstating the importance of the band is unnecessary.



Also, this trailer shows nothing except that they sexed up Fanning, which shouldn't be a selling point!

I agree 100% The Runaways did not tear the world apart. In fact, most people, I would venture to guess, don't know who they hell they were. The overdramatic teaser kind of ruined it for me.

I'm in. The Runaways kick ass and both Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning are great actors. All Stewart detractors bring it back to Twilight. Watch some of her other work before dismissing her ability.

I've seen plenty of her other work too, she's just as unspeakably awdul in all her other films as she is in Twilight. Seriously, she has two expressions.
