And now we know who'll be making up the soundtrack for Paul Feig's GHOSTBUSTERS.

Today we learned that a Fall Out Boy/Missy Elliott collaboration will remake Ray Parker Jr.'s iconic theme song at the top of the track list, and, while the remaining songs have yet to be announced, G-Eazy featuring. Jeremih, 5 Seconds of Summer, Pentatonix, WALK THE MOON and Wolf Alice will be among the artists featured on the album.

In addition, the first single from the GHOSTBUSTERS soundtrack dropped this morning in the form of Elle King's "Good Girls," which sounds like the perfect uptempo tune for a montage right smack in the middle of the movie. That was the spot where Parker's song came on in the original, but for those who want original beats for this reboot, this may be the opportunity for one of them.

I get that this listing may not exactly be everyone's cup of tea, but if the songs work in the context of the movie, much like the soundtrack did for Ivan Reitman's 1984 film, then it's all good. Let's face it… the kids are listening to something different today than people were 30 years ago… and 30 years ago, we were listening to something different than those 30 years before us… The cycle never ends. We just get older. So I can guarantee you that there are plenty of people excited about this group on the soundtrack, and those are the fans who are going to buy this up when it becomes available on July 15, the exact same day GHOSTBUSTERS opens in theaters.
