Ryan Phillippe is meeting with Marvel about a Netflix series

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Given the success of Marvel's Daredevil on Netflix, we're bound to hear a lot more news about the other three shows gearing up to hit. A.K.A. Jessica Jones is the furthest along, starring Krysten Ritter in the titular role. We've seen that Mike Colter will make an appearance there before getting his own Luke Cage show, and that leaves just one Defender left: Iron Fist. That's led some to believe that this next name has a shot at the role. Just recently, Ryan Phillippe was asked on Howard Stern what projects he had on the horizon, and he had no qualms divulging a little bit of information.

Ryan Phillippe on upcoming projects:

Marvel is interested in talking about Netflix. A series, possibly.

Now, as we've seen so far, each show is casting a wide range of great actors to fill up its roster. If Phillippe does indeed take part in a series, it really could be any role at this point. That didn't stop speculation running rampant, pushing Phillippe to post the following on his Twitter account.

I can't say I feel one way or the other over the guy, but he did a bang-up job in Christopher McQuarrie's (MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE ROGUE NATION) directorial debut, THE WAY OF THE GUN. I found the cast for Daredevil to be, more or less, pitch perfect. I have no doubts that if they find a role for Phillippe, it should suit him well.

Marvel's next Netflix show, A.K.A. Jessica Jones, will hit later this year.

Say what you will about the film as a whole, but THE WAY OF THE GUN has a hell of an opener.
