After holding his own against the likes of Seth Rogen in FUNNY PEOPLE, rapper turned actor RZA has signed on to his biggest comedic role yet. He’ll star alongside Robert Downey, Jr. and Zack Galifianakis in the upcoming comedy DUE DATE. It’s unclear who RZA will play in the film but the plot follows Downey and Galifianakis as two mismatched travel companions rushing to get home before Downey’s wife (Michelle Monaghan) gives birth.
RZA has slowly been parlaying his successful career with the Wu-Tang Clan into film. He’s scored movies (KILL BILL) and done some acting (AMERICAN GANGSTER). Todd Phillips (THE HANGOVER) is directing DUE DATE for Warner Bros. with filming set to begin later this year.
