Sad Keanu to star in indie drama Generation Um

So is this why Sad Keanu is sad? Keanu Reeves, who’s been spotted on more than one occasion this summer moping around New York City, has will star in the indie drama GENERATION UM… about a group of aimless New Yorkers “immersed in sex, drugs and indecision.” (Kinda sounds like my life but with a lot more sex and drugs.)

Reeves will begin production on the film today along with actors Bojana Novakovic (Mel Gibson’s daughter in EDGE OF DARKNESS) and Adelaide Clemens (X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE). Since 2008’s THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, Reeves has kept a low profile on the indie scene and looks to be continuing that with this film.

Mark Mann (FINISHING HEAVEN) is directing the film based on a script he wrote and if I could offer up just one piece of advice, it would be to change the title. Horrible.

Here’s hoping that Keanu starts filming this week and gets himself out of his funk. No reason the dude should be celebrating his birthday by himself with a single cupcake.
