There IS a God, and according to Variety his name is Anchor Bay! Who knew? The distributor just picked up the latest comedy by the Broken Lizard gang called THE SLAMMIN SALMON, which had been sitting on the shelves since premiering at Slamdance back in January. And even better: it’ll be out in theaters this December!
The gang’s comedies aren’t always beloved by everyone, but I don’t give a crap about everyone; SUPER TROOPERS and BEERFEST have a special Golden spot on desk and this one will probably join them. Especially with the completely insane cast that includes Lance Henriksen, Michael Clark Duncan, Cobie Smulders (Scherbatsky!!!), Michael Jay White and Vivica A. Fox.
The film concerns a retired heavyweight champ (Duncan) turned restaurateur who forces his waiters to make more money then they ever did in one night to repay a huge debt he owes some nasty mobsters. Whoever brings in most wins 10 grand, and the least profitable gets his face remodeled by the champ. Thank you, Anchor Bay, for MY Christmas present!
