Sam Jackson and Josh Duhamel have Sympathy for the Devil

You could say Josh Duhamel has been slowly climbing the actorial totem pole of late. Since given the opportunity to shoot bullets at alien robots in two TRANSFORMER films, he’s landed leading man roles in romantic comedies opposite the likes of Kristen Bell (WHEN IN ROME) and Katherine Heigl (LIFE AS WE KNOW IT). And now, he’s come to the next logical step of advancement: Co-starring with motherf*cking Sam Jackson.

Though far from a romantic comedy, the new film entitled SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL from director Boaz Yakin (REMEMBER THE TITANS) will be a supernatural thriller where both Duhamel and Jackson play Louisiana lawmen who are tasked with stopping the assassination of a charismatic preacher. However, they learn that far more powerful forces are behind the crime, and are soon faced with what’s described as “a cosmic confrontation between Heaven and Hell, where angels are warriors as dangerous as demons.”

According to Latino Review, all that’s left for SYMPATHY is the sale of some of its international rights in order to secure financing. Once that happens, expect production to commence soon after.

You can catch Josh Duhamel next weekend in WHEN IN ROME. Sam Jackson has the FBI thriller UNTHINKABLE due out sometime this year, and of course, IRON MAN 2 in May.
