The Secret Service

Variety has learned that the man, the myth, the original "Bad Mother F*cker" Samuel L. Jackson has signed on to play the villain in Matthew Vaughn's adaptation of the Mark Millar series THE SECRET SERVICE. He'll be battling Colin Firth who plays secret agent Uncle Jack, and newcomer Taron Egerton recently agreed to appear in the film as Jack's nephew Gary. It's also been confirmed that Michael Caine will star in the movie as the head of the spy organization.

Filming should start this month so you might think Vaughn is done casting for the movie, but apparently he is still looking for someone for the female lead. Emma Watson and Bella Heathcote (DARK SHADOWS) are the two names rumored, however at this point nothing has been set in stone.

I've been meaning to read the comics (I just might have to go pick them up today) and I have heard they are quite hilarious and violent. Samuel L. Jackson is an excellent addition and since he'll be playing comic book villain I hope he gets a chance to deliver another awesome quote about not wanting egg on his face. NOT A GLOB!

THE SECRET SERVICE hits theaters on November 14th, 2014.

Extra Tidbit: In October of 2011 Samuel L. Jackson became the highest grossing film actor of all time.

I've always loved him as a villain. He just gives that presence and feel you never know what he's capable of doing.

The star-studded cast is certainly the cherry on top, but the main attraction for me is Mr. Matthew Vaughn. The man just seems unable to make a bad movie, or at least an uninspired one.

I think a lot of people underestimate Sam

He might to a lot of call ins when it comes to just getting a paycheck, but the guy can be a villain (he stole every scene in Django Unchained) and he looks great in Oldboy. I'm glad to see the man still getting work in the biggest franchises.

I guess it's just me...

but this isn't necessarily good news and makes me anticipate the movie a bit less. he's an actor that ive seen so many damn times at this point that i cant even take him seriously in movies anymore. oversaturation

Samuel L. Jackson in anything is usually good news. I do want to hear about "Barely Lethal", in which he's gonna be playing a high school principal and former spymaster. Hailee Steinfeld will be playing a young spy who fakes her death and escapes to that high school...only to find the principal is her former mentor and boss.

"Does he look like a bitch?"

Can't wait to see him play the villain in this.
