Scarlett Johansson to star opposite Robert Downey Jr. in Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity?

Oh, rumors. There’s nothing quite like hearing somebody say something about someone “verbally agreeing” to do something. But hey, it’s Comic Con, so news outside of the great geek fest is few and far between. We’ll just have to make due.

Ny Daily News apparently has a source that’s saying hottie Scarlett Johansson (IRON MAN 2, HE’S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU) has “verbally agreed” to star opposite Robert Downey Jr. in Alfonso Cuaron’s upcoming sci-fi film GRAVITY.

BS or not, it’s good to hear any sort of news on the man’s project, one that sounds extremely interesting judging from recent reports.

The film, according to that previous bit of news, follows “a woman as she attempts to make her way back to earth after a satellite crash sets off a chain reaction of further crashes.”

GRAVITY is set to begin production later this summer and looking at a 2012 release.
