Scorsese Silenced

Looks like Martin Scorsese, who just wrapped SHUTTER ISLAND with his good pal Leo, has his next project lined up. The living legend is set to direct SILENCE a drama set in the 17th century about two Jesuit priests who face violence and persecution when they travel to Japan to locate their mentor and to spread the gospel of Christianity. Benicio Del Toro and Daniel Day Lewis are in talks for the leads, with Gael Garcia Bernal also set to star. It appears as though Scorsese has decided to only let actors with three names star in this film. Jonathan Taylor Thomas you’re in luck!.

Based on the Shusaku Endo novel, it was adapted by Jay Cocks and will be produced by Marty’s frequent partner in crime Graham King. Scorsese has been eyeing this bad boy for over a decade which means this thing is just oozing with potential. Speaking of oozing with potential, my girlfriend is naked in the room next door. Gotta go!
