As I'm sure you've heard, casting has heated up on SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD, the upcoming Edgar Wright adaptation of the popular comic. For the uninitiated, PILGRIM follows a 23-year-old guy trying to win the heart of a girl named Ramona. But before he does that he must do battle with her evil exes.

Casting news has been coming in fast and furious though so I thought I'd combine it all into one big post, complete with some handy-dandy graphics to help you piece together who's playing who. This is almost the entire cast so far with the exception of Mae Whitman as Roxanne Richter and Ellen Wong as Knives Chau (can't find any pics of Roxy or Ellen Wong anywhere online...if you feel like helping, e-mail me). So far I have to say Edgar and his crew have done a pretty fantastic job...

Scott Pilgrim / Michael Cera

Ramona Flowers / Mary Elizabeth Winstead

Wallace Wells / Kieran Culkin

Stephen Stills / Mark Webber

Kim Pine / Alison Pill

Envy Adams / Brie Larson

Young Neil / Johnny Simmons

Julie Powers / Aubrey Plaza

Stacey Pilgrim / Anna Kendrick

RAMONA'S EVIL EXES

Todd Ingram / Brandon Routh

Matthew Patel / Satya Bhabha

Lucas Lee / Chris Evans

Wow, another movie featuring Michael Cera in a zip hoodie, with a guitar, and (most likely) a dry witty sense of humor. I'm getting really sick of this dbag.

Yep. Most people seem to have figured it out already. Michael Cera is completely miscast in this role. As someone who is very familiar with the graphic novel series, I can say that he is the completely wrong choice for this part.

The screenplay seemed ok up to a point. That point being where it deviates from the novels.I'd say the draft I read was from somewhere around when Book 4 was released as it has a similar situation but changes a lot around while leaving a lot of stuff out completely. The best thing to do would have been to wait til O'Malley finished the series, then do a film based on it....oh, and of course, replace Michael Cera with someone who would be suited to Pilgrim's personality. I am liking how the rest of the cast looks though. It'll be interesting to see if any of it translates well to the big screen. The graphic novels had a lot of great humor that I'm not sure would work outside of the books.

not down with michael cera
I'm not sure what it is but he bums me out. I think he's terribly overrated and I have absolutely no desire to see him in this movie or any others for that matter. The rest of the cast looks spot on, though.

this movie is gonna be great
although, one thing that kinda bothers me is...this Scott Pilgrim seems to get a ton of chicks...im not buying Michael Cera getting MEW let alone a bunch of other chicks. Edgar Wright can do no wrong though

I'm not familiar with the graphic novel, but what's the target audience for this movie. I like edgar wright, but I get a sky high vibe from this movie, which isn't a good thing.

Not sold.
The screenplay for this movie is an unmitigated disaster. It reads like a cross between JUNO and MORTAL COMBAT. I can't believe it's even being made.

i got nothing but respect for edgar wright but to put it bluntly, fuck michael cera. i love arrested development but you can tell that kid got way too big of an ego after superbad became a hit. if they dont make an arrested development movie, he'll be the reason why. so for that, fuck him

I love these graphic novels. All of this casting seems pretty awesome, except I gotta finally say, I think Michael Cera is terribly miscast.

All Cera has been able to do so far is play George-Michael Bluth. Although that is a great character and he is really great at it, Scott Pilgrim is really not George-Michael Bluth.

I guess if nothing else this will show me...

I guess if nothing else this will show me whether or not Cera can act with a different personality than what he's shown in Arrested Development, Superbad, Juno, Nick and Norah, and the TV cameos I have seen him do.

If he plays it exactly the same as he's played everything else then this will be a pretty big disservice to Brian Lee O'Malley and the totally awesome character he created.

Thanks to You
All of the other movie sites have written stories on this, but this is the first site to explain who both Scott Pilgrim and Edgar Wright are. Now I actually feel like I learned something after reading the article as opposed to thinking "what are they talking about" So thank you for writing and posting a complete news article on a topic.

So far, most of the casting choices have been great. The only one I'm not liking all that much is Cera as Pilgrim.

But with that said, Edgar Wright hasn't done me wrong so I'll trust him with the casting choice...

I know nothing of the graphic novels, except what I read on here, but the casting seems to be dead on, and Edgar Wright hasnt let me down yet

Let Me Get This Straight....
....THIS is what Edgar Wright is wasting his time on instead of his rumored-to-be-epic ANT-MAN/GIANT MAN film?

This blows.
