Man of Steel

Warner Bros. has released a second television spot for MAN OF STEEL and while it doesn't come close to the awesomeness of the last full length trailer, what do you expect from a thirty second commercial? There is a bit of new footage in the spot though, including Perry White, General Zod's message to Planet Earth and Henry Cavill making the same face I did when I found out Glee was picked up for two more seasons.

Take a look:

I've shown the trailers to friends that aren't Superman fans or fans of the previous film (I often hear, "Dude, I fell asleep during SUPERMAN RETURNS. Screw Superman.") and even most of them are excited as hell to see MAN OF STEEL. I think Zack Snyder is going to have a huge hit on his hands and it's going to be very interesting to see what DC plans to do with Superman and the Justice League if MAN OF STEEL pulls in a shit ton of money. By the way "shit ton" is an actual measurement of currency and is equal to about $350 million to $450 million. Give or take.

MAN OF STEEL starring Henry Cavill, Michael Shannon, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Russell Crowe, and Kevin Costner arrives in theaters on June 14th, 2013.

Extra Tidbit: I'm pretty pumped to see Henry Cavill kicking ass, Michael Shannon being intense and Amy Adams being lovely like a warm moonbeam on a spring night but I'm very excited to see what Russell Crowe and Kevin Costner add to the film. Superman's relationship with his fathers seems to be an important issue in the movie and it'll be intriguing to see how the two parents help shape the hero's destiny.

still think crowe was wrong for jor el. I keep waiting for him to say I am Gladiator. Just think the Jor El script writing is poor compared to the poetry that Brandon delivered in the Donner version.

The way Kevin Costner delivers that line about...I am your father...sold me right there with regard to how good I think he'll come across. So many little things like that in the trailer(s) have been fueling my expectations to greater heights. I've been praying this movie doesn't let me down - the trailers have me stoked up far too much...I fear being let down.

Not sure how Russell Crowe will do in this movie but getting 90's golden boy Kevin Costner to play pa Kent was a good choice.

Batman was my window into the DC Universe and I became familiar with the other characters mainly through the DCAU. Back when Superman Returns was released, I hoped that there would be a sequel in which Supes actually kicked ass and took a while to buy into the idea of a reboot, but I'm completely on board now and this does look like it will be a knockout punch.

I've never been a big superman fan (Batman always wins hands down for me) but this just looks amazing. Hope it doesn't disappoint
