See all Oscar noms

02.06.2009

By the time Hugh Jackman trots across the stage on Oscar night, it's possible you haven't managed to see all the Best Picture nominees. AMC Theatres can hook you up -- all in one day, if you've got the time and 30 bananas.

On Saturday, February 21st, your local AMC is offering an all-day pass for all five films in contention for the gold dude. For thirty bucks, you can watch Sean Penn be openly gay, see Kate Winslet dabble in Nazism, experience the oh-so-slow de-aging of Brad Pitt, watch an Indian kid win big bucks and a babe, and see the clash of president and journalist. Nappy time is left to your own discretion.

AMC will even toss in a free barrel of refillable popcorn to keep your meat-hole stuffed with greasy puffed kernels (the Red Vines and nachos are coming out of your own pocket, though). Pretty sweet deal -- check the details and theater options RIGHT HERE!

Extra Tidbit: If you're in luck, your local AMC will also be showing TDK in IMAX, and you can sneak in for a peek during the contenders' dull moments.

I think this sounds like a cool idea (even if I'm also a little underwhelmed by the nominees) but there isn't an AMC Theater within 40 miles of my zip code. Sheesh, I'm only in central NY.

I pretty much concur with everyone else. Nifty idea, not hot on the movies, though. Plus, I don't think any theaters near me are doing it which is sad.

I did this last year and it was great, although I felt last year had a better selection. I've already seen Button and dont have much of a desire to see the others. If The Wrestler had been nominated, that would make me go to this...

I would absolutely love to go during a good year of nominations. Not too into the movies this year, besides Slumdog and Frost/Nixon. Button put me to sleep.

Last year would've been awesome to check out.

I'd go but I've seen them all already...maybe I'll do it again...
Oh and as for Ben Button winning best picture (and the phenomenal Wrestler not being nominated)...this video sums it all up.

Why pay the money to watch the movies when I can sleep at home for free? One or two may be worth it but watching all 5 I'd have a snore fest.

While I'm not keen on the BP Noms this year, I'd love to do this. I'll see if I can't convince a friend of mine to do this with me, althought it's tough considering I've seen 2 of these movies already. And she's seen 3...

im saying it here, SLUMDOG WILL WIN not a doubt.

BETWEEN SLUMDOG AND MILK

Curious Case of Benjamin Button = Not going to win.

The beat down is between Slumdog and Milk, could be Slumdog once again.

It's well worth it!

I did this last year, and it was loads of fun!
The audience was polite as hell (probably because most if not all are there to WATCH THE MOVIE, and not dick around). Free popcorn all day, and the breaks between consisted of geeky movie-talk with the other audience members. I had a hell of a good time!
I even skipped on JUNO (saw it, didn't like it) to have myself a relaxed dinner, went back for the final show.

I would do it again this year, but I'm not too keen on the BP noms enough this

Also, Hawaii sucks and no theaters are doing it.
