Keegan-Michael Key had the best reaction to Jordan Peele winning an Oscar

Jordan Peele’s GET OUT may not have won trophies for Best Director and Best Picture, but he did snag a win for Best Original Screenplay, becoming the first black screenwriter to do so. The actor/writer/director came to fame on the show KEY & PEELE, which he teamed on with his friend Keegan-Michael Key. The latter was no doubt watching the Oscars, and his reaction to his friend winning the Oscar, and his reaction is pure, priceless joy.

You can take a look at the two photos that found their way onto Twitter below, one coming from Key himself, showing the man looking completely over the moon and then next to tears. Oh, and Colin Hanks is there too.

Key and Peele were castmates on the sketch show MAD TV, and the duo started their show KEY AND PEELE in 2012, with the show running for five seasons, ending in 2015. The show’s final season won Emmys for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series and for makeup, and was also nominated for writing, production design and supporting actor (Key). The duo also starred in the movie KEANU together about two men who have to infiltrate a gang to save Peele’s adorable pet cat.

Key’s reaction was the general mood in the whole room when Peele’s name was called as Peele receieved a standing ovation as he came ontage. I can only imagine the genuine rush of happiness going through Key seeing his best bud winning such a huge award. I would be shocked if he didn’t go through a whole box of tissues.
