Selena Gomez shares her gloomy outlook in the first clip from Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers

Harmony Korine’s SPRING BREAKERS will be the turning point for Vanessa Hudgens, and especially Selena Gomez. While Hudgens was the first to “go wild” with her nudie phone pics released on the net, this will be the first step in the direction of the dark side for Gomez.

I’ve been curious of this project since those photos of James Franco with cornrows posing gangsterly alongside the young ladies in their bikinis showed up online. Korine has an interesting and at times frightening take on youth culture. Take a look at his first feature, KIDS. SPRING BREAKERS centers on, “four college-aged girls who decide to rob a fast food restaurant in order to pay for the annual getaway, and get thrown in the slammer. A rapping drug and arms dealer bails out the girls, and coaxes them to kill his nemesis Arch.”

The first short clip from the film centers on Gomez talking about the dreary, everyday life the teens lead. From the looks of it, the girls are in jail. Gomez does a fine job as far as I can tell. I’m just not so sure about the dialogue. Is it a little corny or is that just teen speak? It’s been awhile.

Check out the clip below.
