Serkis joins Tintin

100%

Andy Serkis It wouldn't be a Peter Jackson joint without the either live action or motion capture involvement of Andy Serkis and so he's recently joined the cast of the Jackson and Steven Spielberg directed action adventure trilogy TINTIN. The story comes from the extremely popular Herge comics of the same name centering on a young Belgian reporter who travels the world with his dog Snowy and encounters cooky characters like temperamental sea captain Haddock, Professor Cuthbert Calculus and bumbling detectives Thomson and Thompson. And while DreamWorks hasn't confirmed, it's believed Serkis will be playing Haddock. Extremely talented British scribe Steven Moffat (just check out the British "Coupling" sitcom and the episodes he wrote for the revamped "Doctor Who" and you'll see how talented this guy is) wrote the screenplay. The entire trilogy will be done with performance-capture technology and produced in digital 3-D with Jackson and Spielberg directing an installment each and a third director to be decided on later. Serkis can next be seen in the fantasy adventure INKHEART.

Extra Tidbit: Serkis' name is of Armenian descent and would have originally been "Sarkisian".

well i gotta say i lve andy serkis that guy can do no wrong for me. he's good in everything i've seen him in except 13 going on 30 but i'll never admit to seeing even the smallest bit of that movie ever again.

i love tintin and when i heard about this i was extremely excited this is going to be brilliant. i remember reading they were going to use photrealism cgi like polar express and that stuff and i was disapointed but then i started to think with peter jackson and steven spielberg one of

i love tintin and when i heard about this i was extremely excited this is going to be brilliant. i remember reading they were going to use photrealism cgi like polar express and that stuff and i was disapointed but then i started to think with peter jackson and steven spielberg one of them the richest driectors in hollywood the other on with a vast understanding of cgi i don't see how this could go wrong. even in herge's style it suits. discarding the first issues and focusing on the later ones as he devleoped his style of realistic bodies and surroundings with simple facial features would be caputred so brilliantly on this as long as they don't fuck it up soewhere along the way and model them on the actors like zemekis then that would jsut be really boring. plus placid that stuff just looks really really inhuman to me.

anywasy really excited about this and andy serkis in it. especially as captain haddock. always a favourite of mine but thompon and thompson beat all so they better get a good call for that.

Fuck yeah! this is gonna rock.
