Set photos reveal a first look at Guy Ritchie's King Arthur film
Six films, they're already planning for six films in Guy Ritchie's King Arthur franchise; lets just see how the first one does fellas. The first film of this potentially six film spanning franchise, KNIGHTS OF THE ROUNDTABLE: KING ARTHUR, is currently filming in the Snowdonia National Park and as is typical of any film that shoots outside nowadays, there are set photos. I'm not spotting any sign of Charlie Hunnam, who will be playing the title role, but we do get our first look at Jude Law as Vortigen; check them out!
As we know, KNIGHTS OF THE ROUNDTABLE: KING ARTHUR won't be the only film pulling from the King Arthur myths, Jonathan Liebesman has his own version in the works by the name of MAN AT ARMS. That film will follow Sir Lancelot as an older man who is bent on making amends after his love for Guinevere (and hers for him) ended up destroying Arthur’s Camelot. As for Ritchie's film, this is an idea of what we're in for:
The bold new story introduces a streetwise young Arthur who runs the back alleys of Londonium with his gang, unaware of the life he was born for until he grasps hold of the sword Excalibur—and with it, his future. Instantly challenged by the power of Excalibur, Arthur is forced to make some hard choices. Throwing in with the Resistance and a mysterious young woman named Guinevere, he must learn to master the sword, face down his demons and unite the people to defeat the tyrant Vortigern, who stole his crown and murdered his parents, and become King.
KNIGHTS OF THE ROUNDTABLE: KING ARTHUR is set for a July 22, 2016 release.
