Seth MacFarlane meets James Bond in this new Oscar commercial

With the Oscars later this month, expect more and more advertising to hit ABC and related networks. While producers are trying to keep quiet about some special events during the telecast, it has been known for a while that there will be a tribute to James Bond's 50th Anniversary. Although SKYFALL did not get a Best Picture nomination, I am sure the success of the latest 007 movie has the Academy looking to cash in.

This commercial featuring host Seth MacFarlane uses the old Billy Crystal trick of inserting the current host into classic film scenes. Here MacFarlane gets to goof around with the previous Bond, Pierce Brosnan.

Rumors have it that all of the Bond actors may be appearing on stage together for the first time. So, we may see Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, George Lazenby, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig looking debonair and kickass.

The Oscars air live on ABC on February 24th and SKYFALL hits Blu-ray on February 12th.

If anyone has seen Seth's Comedy Central Roasts, they know he's a fucking great host.

I'm not a Seth MacFarlane fan per se - he can sometimes come off as "funnier than thou", if that makes sense - but I think he has the charisma and presence to hold court at something like the Oscars, and they've had some truly awful hosts so I'm optimistic about how well he'll do.

I'm no Oscar fan either, but I thought Seth Macfarlane was funny when he hosted the roasts on Comedy Central. I don't even like most of his work, but I think he'll do a decent job as host.

I don't really watch the Oscars anymore because I really don't care about who gets an award or not, but I like MacFarlanes brand of humor, so I think it should be interesting to see how he does. I think it's definitely an odd choice, considering he's only put out one film, but it should be fun. I anticipate there will be a bit of Hollywood roasting and some random humor because I can't see MacFarlane resisting the urge to throw in that kind of humor into anything, really.

I laughed and that was enough. I have also never seen or heard of anyone every stirring a martini.

Eh, I chuckled

I'll probably check it out this year. McFarlane can be pretty funny if he doesn't do impressions of his own characters. And the Bond tribute will be neat.
